FAQ
General
What is a pocket WiFi and how does it work?
A pocket WiFi is a portable wireless modem, also know as MiFi, mobile hotspot, or internet dongle, that connects any Wi-Fi enabled device (smartphones, laptops, and tablets) to the internet through a mobile telephone network.
It works like an at home Wi-Fi hotspot, generating a WiFi network with a radius of about 10-15 meters around you, but… it fits in your pocket!
It requires no installation, cables, or software. Just turn on the pocket WiFi, enter the password and then you can immediately connect your personal devices.

How many devices can I connect to a single pocket WiFi?
The SMART and PRO devices we rent online allow a connection of up to 10 devices simultaneously, allowing your entire family to stay connected at the same time!
The OFFICE device allow a connection of up to 32 devices simultaneously
Please note that the connection speed is shared among the connected devices, and the hotspot battery consumption is proportional to the number of connections supported by the hotspot, so having 10 devices connected at the same time could result in speed slow down and quick battery drainage. For this reason, when using high data consumption apps or services like Netflix or Spotify, we recommend that you rent a single mobile hotspot for every 4-5 personal devices that you plan to connect during your trip.
See the “HOTSPOT DEVICES” FAQ section to know more about battery consumption.

Data Plan
How is WiTourist’s data plan one of the best in Italy?
Standard data plans have a fixed monthly price, which means the telephone operator has greater interest in limiting “exaggerated” network usage of specific users. This reduces the connection speed if the consumption surpasses a specific daily or monthly limit, or in case of a specific usage like VoIP and/or streaming services like Netflix or Spotify.
Our pocket WiFi devices use one of the best mobile data plans in Italy. It's a highly professional solution developed by the main telephone operator in Italy only for “Top Companies”, in order to provide the best available performance in every place and situation, without “hidden” limitations typical of other standard mobile data plans!
We do not pay a fixed monthly price, but pay proportionally to the data consumption of our devices. Which makes the operator more interested in keeping the best performance possible, and eliminating all possible limitations!

What does it mean “priority access”?
Each “real” telephone Provider has an infrastructure made up of thousands of antennas scattered throughout the territory. Each antenna allows the connection of all the devices located in the surrounding area (cell) and “divides” its traffic capacity (bandwidth) among all the devices connected to it. When the number of connected devices is very high, for example in densely populated areas or when at particular times many users connect simultaneously, the bandwidth reserved for each device is drastically reduced and consequently the download and upload speeds available to each user decreases.
This “division” of bandwidth is not equal for all devices, but depends on the priority access related to the specific data plan used by each connected device. The data plan we use is absolutely one of the most professional in Italy. It is an "Enterprise" data plan, developed by one of the most important providers in Italy, Wind-Tre, exclusively for large companies, and has the highest priority level ever!
On the contrary, many competitors work with very low cost "consumer" data plans, or with non-Italian plans that work in roaming on Italian networks. These solutions, especially the first, have very low priority access in case of "crowding" of the cell, and the speed of the devices is progressively "throttled" to the point that the Internet access is impossible. This does not happen with our data plan or happens in a limited way only when the cell is really “full”!
It is also important to underline another phenomenon not related to the cell saturation, but to normal conditions of use. Most of the plans of Italian "virtual" providers and foreign providers that offer roaming in Italy, when they use the infrastructures of "real" Italian operators (Wind Tre, Vodafone, Tim), they have access guided by "filters" that limit the speed constantly or when certain conditions are reached. This happens as a result of agreements that allow them to obtain lower prices from the "real" operator, which obviously has an interest in keeping its infrastructure as "free" as possible to offer adequate services to its direct customers, especially “Business” and “ Enterprise” users that are willing to pay more for the best possible performance.

Is there coverage on a cruise ship?
Unless you’re close to land (at least some kilometers) the device will not work. Pocket WiFi devices need to pick up a land-based signal to connect to the internet. Please note that if your cruise advertises WiFi connectivity on board, it’s satellite-based.
If my cell phone can receive a signal, will the pocket WiFi as well?
Not necessarily. Your cell phone may work by a different carrier than the pocket WiFi, so they don't connect to the same antenna.
On the other hand, cell phones connect to mobile voice networks that have better coverage than data networks, especially in rural areas. For this reason, in some rare situations you might be able to make calls, but not to connect to the internet.

What can I do with 2 GB per day?
If you plan to rent a SMART 2 pocket WiFi, you can rest assured that all your family will be allowed to browse the Internet or send/receive emails with no problems. Reading an email, browsing the Internet, and listening to online music require a ridiculous data usage, compared to 2 GB per day allowed by our devices.
The only real “DATA EATER” is the video streaming. The higher the video resolution is, the higher the GB consumption will be. For this reason, if you plan to watch video contents, we indicate below the average hourly data consumption for the main streaming platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video, or Disney+.
KEEP IN MIND: Generally, you can set the video quality depending on the platform you use. We suggest you to inform about that directly by reading the FAQ of the platform you use.
2 GB let you watch movies:
Lastly, remember that some automatic updates can consume significant amounts of traffic. While generally updating an app uses a few MB of traffic (1 MB is equivalent to the thousandth part of 1 GB) and therefore does not significantly affect the data traffic you have available, other updates, such as those of a PC or console operating system, can use significant traffic volumes, even higher than the 2 GB allowed per day. In such cases, it is sufficient to temporarily set your devices to not allow updates automatically when connected via Wi-Fi.

How does the daily limit work?
For the SMART devices a daily limit is applied, it is indicated at the moment of the order. If you reach the limit, the connection will be disabled until midnight. In this case, after midnight simply restart your pocket device to use it again.
If you plan to make intensive use of data (e.g. peer to peer or intensive streaming) we suggest monitoring the WiFi networks' usage on your own connected devices. This information is available on all the latest operating systems.

What are the daily data limits applied to devices rented directly by affiliated companies?
Specific daily limits are applied to SMART devices rented online and to the devices rented by our affiliated companies.
Here below is a list of the main companies and their daily limits.
Please note that these values indicate the LOWEST LIMITS we can set and that we usually apply higher limits or don't apply limits at all!
The limits are regulated dynamically by the global usage of all WiTourist devices in an area because we use a "centralized" data plan and a very intense usage by a specific user may subtract bandwidth from all the other customers in the same area. For this reason, our server automatically regulates the limits during the year, on two bases: the minimum daily limit chosen by the affiliated company and the global usage of all WiTourist devices of that company.
Consequently, since in Summer our daily average traffic usage is considerably higher than in the rest of the year and almost all our devices work simultaneously, usually only in a few weeks in the period from June to August the limits could reach the minimum values indicated in the list, while the rest of the year they are higher, generally in the range from 12 to 18 GB per day.

What is the average speed of a WiTourist pocket WiFi?
Telephone operators indicate the max speed available on their infrastructures, but it is not the real average speed. For reasons related to normal network congestion, the real average speed in Italy is about 5-6 Mbps for 3G standard, and about 15-20 Mbps for 4G standard. These are average values for Italy, therefore the average speed in a specific location can be different from one to another. Speeds are practically the same with the main operators in Italy: one operator can offer better performance in a district, but then worse in another one.
Can I make phone calls or send SMS with the pocket WiFi?
The pocket WiFi does not enable regular voice calls and SMS via cellular networks, however it does allow VoIP calls and messaging via WhatsApp, Skype, Viber, etc.
Why WiTourist
How can shared WiFi be unsecure?
When connected to the same router, a malicious user may take advantage of the WiFi network automatically generated in order to access to your personal device for illicit purposes.
With WiTourist, only your family can connect to your WiFi network, through a unique password indicated on your pocket WiFi!

Why do other operators have additional fees and charges?
All standard Italian data plans have traffic limits applied, and usually offer only a few GB per month. Once the set limit is surpassed, the connection is blocked or the speed is reduced to such a low level that even the most basic services will be unusable. After the speed is blocked or reduced, you will have to purchase additional GB (although not always possible, and when it is possible it can be very expensive) to continue navigating at the highest speed.
Some operators have extra fees for tethering or allowing you to use the 4G speed.
Also, all data plans allow access to additional services (in many cases, unknowingly and inadvertently), like when you click on an advertisment, which can result in making undesirable weekly or monthly subscription charges directly credited to your data plan.
With WiTourist you can relax, because everything is included- no hidden clauses, and the hotspot device is configured so no additional charges or fees will incur.

Why are other data plans not truly “unlimited”?
Today, none of the major Italian telephone operators offer a standard data plan with a fixed monthly fee, and with truly unlimited data. As mobile internet usage is increasing, these operators offer only “pay per use” plans with a certain number of GB available per month, in order to optimize traffic capacity.
When you surpass the specific amount allowed, the speed is reduced and makes the use of some services impossible. Using questionable marketing terminology, many operators name these plans “unlimited” because after the limit is reached, while your access is still available, it is at a highly reduced speed.
We don’t pay a fixed monthly price, but proportionally to the data consumption of our devices, which makes the operator more interested in keeping the best performance possible, and eliminating all possible limitations!

Which Fair Policy is applied for the unlimited devices?
This service is based on a mobile connection and if you use it intensively you subtract bandwidth (and speed) to all other users connected to the same cell (antenna).
For this reason, all telephone operators apply "fair policy" rules and may suspend a sim that is continuously connected and uses a significantly higher volume of data than national averages, even in the case of "unlimited" data plans.
The operator we use (Wind-Tre) has the right to suspend a SIM if its average data consumption exceeds 20 GB / 24 hours for more than 48 hours. There are many other factors that contribute to the possible suspension, first of all the global use of the cell, but the important thing is that if the sim is suspended by the operator, we must open a case and, generally, the reactivation takes place in 2-3 business days.
For this reason, to avoid long suspensions, we have decided to apply our own "fair policy" and suspend the data connection just before the operator can apply his own one, with the great advantage of being able, in this way, to reactivate the SIM autonomously and automatically. Our suspension may be applied if you have an average data usage greater than 20 GB / 24 hours for more than 48 hours, which is an exceptional usage for a mobile connection.
To better understand this value, please consider that 20 GB let you watching movies as follows:
- about 28 hours with video quality set to “standard” (720p) - average consumption of about 0,7 GB per hour;
- about 8 hours with video quality set to “HD” (1024p) - average consumption of about 2,5 GB per hour.
In case of suspension, you will see "Internet not available" on your device until midnight. After midnight, the data connection is automatically re-enabled and you will be able to use your device again!

What “restrictions” do other operators apply?
Many telephone operators reduce the navigation speed or block access to the internet if you use specific services or websites. For example, they inhibit VoiP to encourage you to use their voice services, and block video streaming and P2P services to avoid excessive traffic consumption.
With WiTourist you can access any service without any limits! You can use VoiP to call your friends and family anywhere in the world at no extra cost, stream a video using your preferred provider, search a site that interests you, and much more!

What are the problems associated with fixed WiFi?
Coverage
A fixed WiFi network is based upon a series of antennas with limited potential to distribute service over a set region. In the best case, coverage will be limited to only a specific section of a city center, like a neighborhood. Every antenna covers a specific area with a radius of a set number of meters (from 15 to 50): consequently, the connection can frequently be interrupted until you are in range of the next antenna.
You must consider that fixed WiFi network areas in Italy are “rare”, and when present, often they may not function correctly (e.g. have partial antenna function).
Limitations
Connection may happen with limited speed, a time limit, or a maximum amount of data available. Usually, services like VoIP and streaming videos are blocked.
Registration
Fixed WiFi access requires a registration process that requests personal information and takes time away from your trip, and every personal device you wish to connect must do this. Registration does not always allow for immediate connection, and it can take several minutes for the authentication to arrive. In addition, for every new network you must repeat the registration process...
Security
When connected to the same WiFi network, other users may have access to your personal devices for illicit purposes. With WiTourist, your family has an exclusive WiFi network that unknown people cannot access, unless you provide them with the password.
Advertisements
Almost all fixed WiFi networks redirect you to a “landing page”, which generates promotions and advertisements every time you connect. Even the email address you provide for the registration can be used for promotional purposes.

What are the problems related to roaming?
Cost and Performance
In the case of roaming, your home phone operator pays the Italian operator according to their specific agreement. Usually these fees range from 10 up to 500 €/Gb (for extra UE roaming).
Consequently, if you use roaming “by consumption”, in the worst case scenario, you may have to pay up to double the fees stated above...
Instead, if you use roaming in a “pre-paid package”, you will be able to have traffic up to an extremely limited amount. If you surpass it, depending on the operator, you can purchase another package, or continue to navigate at an extremely limited speed (generally 128Kbps), or pay by consumption.
Settings
Roaming is usually with only one specific operator (depending on your operator agreement with the Italian operators), so if you do not set your device to the correct operator or incorrectly configure the device, you risk very high costs!
Network Compatibility
Depending on your original country, your smartphone may not be 100% compatible with Italian network standards. In this case, you must purchase and configure the necessary hardware (the hotspot) to have a connection, and once you return to your home country, it will no longer be usable.
Tethering Blockage
Almost all roaming options do not allow the use of tethering, so the connection is only usable on the smartphone where the SIM is located.

What are the problems associated with purchasing an Italian SIM card?
Performance
No Italian data plans offer unlimited traffic at the maximum available speed! They all provide a traffic limit, and once over it, the speed is drastically reduced.
Sometimes the operator limits the speed, or blocks the connection, if you use specific services services like VoiP, P2P, and video streaming.
Often times tethering is prohibited or a fee is required for tethering. If the cell antenna is overloaded, almost every Italian operator applies a “priority access” policy, which penalizes the more economical data plans.
Contracts
Depending on your home country, it may not be possible to sign an Italian data plan contract, for fiscal and/or legal reasons. In most cases, the registration requires time in the store, you must talk with store personnel who may not speak your language, and above all, will require you to sign an extended period (months or years) contract that consists of many pages.
Other Risks
Often the operator applies extra costs for traffic over the standard amount.
In addition, you may pay for “services” related to “fraudulent” banners on some websites.
If you bring an additional device (smartphone or hotspot) from your home country in order to use the Italian SIM card, you need to configure it, which wastes your time and may risk that the hardware is not 100% compatible.
In this case you would have to purchase an Italian device, which may not work once you return to your home country.

What are the problems associated with renting a “European” or “Worldwide” pocket WiFi?
Cost and Performance
All other rental hotspot options that allow you to access the internet in multiple countries are based upon roaming, and for this reason they have the same problems.
Usually they use the UMTS standard, which is the least performing of the 3G, and have a daily limit of a few Mb per day (best case scenario the device will have a limit of 100-500 MB per day).
If you go over this daily limit, the speed is drastically reduced making the hotspot practically unusable.
And to add, all of this is typically offered at fees double or triple the cost to our pices at WiTourist!

Why is WiTourist Customer Care more effective than others?
Quite often operators indicate their Customer Care is available 24/7, but if you contact them during specific hours they reply with an automated message saying “we will contact you as soon as possible”, and you may be waiting hours for a reply.
We, on the other hand, are truly at your disposal, meaning every day (check our operating time in the "contacts" section), with real and prepared operators, via email, chat, SMS, and WhatsApp.
During these working hours, our support team will typically reply within 1 hour.
Our main office is located in Rome. We decided to work exclusively in Italy, not only to offer a truly high-level Italian data plan, but also to be able to fully provide you with the quickest and best service for delivery/return operations, and for any eventual support you may need!

What do you mean by “respect for you”?
In the “Web Era”, we are used to a very aggressive marketing approach. Companies often use words in a sneaky way, to make you understand one thing, but mean another...
Our approach is different, and below you can read some examples.
Assurance of Receiving your Device on Time
Other rental companies make you pay immediately, even if sometimes they know very well that it is not possible to deliver your device on time!
This is not correct because they “lock” you to their service, as you have already paid, and now you are “obliged” to wait for the first available delivery date!
We don’t make you pay immediately, but give you a quotation with a deadline to meet which is based on your location and the dates indicated, to ensure that you will receive your device in time.
No Need to Create an Account
Almost every commercial website requires you to create an account to try to sell their products through additional contact. But we don’t! We won't harrass you with dozens of emails if you are not interested in our service.
Our approach is to email your quotation with the deadline, as indicated above. If you have not yet confirmed the order and the deadline is nearing, we only send you a reminder email. Nothing more...
Even when you confirm the booking, no account is needed! We will only contact you by email, using your booking code, and only in relation to your rental. If after the rental period you’d like to stay in touch with us, you can "like” our Facebook account.
No Fake “Unlimited” Traffic
This is a fundamental point for us. Other operators indicate “unlimited” traffic, but decrease your speed after you meet a specific data traffic quota!
Customer-Friendly Terms and Conditions
Seeing as you are on holiday, a service like this requires Terms and Conditions that are customer-oriented, easy to understand and deal with, allowing any possible problem to be solved quickly and easy! Please read the FAQ section “Booking”, and/or read our Terms and Conditions to see some examples of our approach!

What do you mean by “fair marketing”?
“Real” Followers
Did you know that anyone can buy Facebook followers? It’s a phenomenon that is increasing every day, usually because people are more willing to trust companies with a larger number of followers.
We don’t purchase our followers. Every year we have thousands and thousands of rentals, and in our experience, only a small percentage of customers actually decides to become a follower- even if the large majority is satisfied with our service. We don’t force anyone to be our follower, we don’t offer discounts if you become a follower, and we don’t buy fake followers.

Online booking
Can I change my booking information after placing an order?
If you'd like to change your rental or delivery date details after placing your order, you can do so. It’s important that any change is communicated to us as soon as possible, so we can manage your order correctly. Just contact us by email, indicating your booking code, and we'll make the necessary arrangements!
Is it possible to extend the rental period once it’s already begun?
Yes, you just need to get in touch with us ahead of time, so we can make the necessary arrangements.
What emails will I get from WiTourist?
Once your order is confirmed, you will only receive emails with information regarding your rental, including dates and places for the pick up and return of the hotspot. For this reason, please make sure the email address you provide us with is the one you will regularly check while in Italy.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your rental anytime you want. For the modification, a fee of 5 euros is provided. If you cancel the order before the shipment we will refund 90% of the amount relating to the “rental” and to any “insurance”, and 100% of the “shipping” fee.
If you cancel the order after the shipment, we will refund 70% of the amount relating to the “rental” and to any “insurance”, starting from the day after the date on which the device is collected by the courier for the return. The refunds of the amounts less than €10 will be issued as a voucher.

Where can I find the order charge on my bank statement?
The charge will show up on your bank statement from "EVOLIA Srl".
Do prices include VAT?
Prices include VAT where applicable in compliance with the legal provisions. Your invoice will be sent electronically to the Italian Income Revenue Authority, "Agenzia delle Entrate", that will eventually share it to the equivalent Agency of your country, where applicable. You can ask for a PDF copy of the invoice, if needed.
Do you require a deposit?
If you rent through the "Booking Online" section, a deposit is required for each hotspot rented to protect against damage, loss, or theft of the device. The deposit is refunded within two (2) days from the hotspot return to our Main Office.
Recently, we introduced the "Rental Insurance" option that also avoids the necessity to pay the deposit.
If you rent at an Affiliated Tourism Company, you are required to preauthorize a charge to your credit card (value depending on the hotspot model chosen). Your credit card information will be deleted once the device is returned to the specific location where you rented your hotspot.
Please remember that only Visa and Mastercard (no debit cards) are allowed!

What is "Insurance" option and how does it work?
According to a very clear scheme indicated in our Rental Agreement in ART. 7.1, we foresee amounts as a penalty for any “real” damage suffered.
Fortunately, the incidence of these events is very low and over 95% of our customers concludes the rental without problems! However, if you want to avoid any risk of damage as a result of events not depending on your will as theft by third parties and / or accidental damage, we offer you the possibility of signing an "Insurance" for an amount proportional to the value of the devices and the duration of the rental.
In case of a theft, you just need to send us a copy of the complaint to the Italian Authorities with the list of the stolen devices within two working days from the event.
In case of damage, you will only have to return the damaged device, minding to inform us about the malfunction.
The Insurance offers you the benefit of not having to pay the deposits normally required.
In fact, in our standard rental formula, a deposit has to be paid for each device rented, corresponding to about 60% of the value of the device.
You can see the exact amount by clicking "details" below the image of each device in the quote request form, or in our "Rental Agreement", or in the quote itself when you don't choose the "Insurance" option. This deposit is refunded upon return of the device to our main office and it may be used by us to retain penalties’ amounts.
By activating the "Rental Insurance", you will not have to pay these deposits. In case of application of penalties for damages other than theft and / or damage already covered by the warranty, we will send you a request to be paid by the following 24 hours.

What is the “order management” fee?
For online bookings, we apply a fixed one-time fee called "order management". This is to cover the costs associated with the procedures we must perform in order to register payments, manage the order, contact the accommodations indicated, reserve one or more devices for your name, and so on… These procedures are independent from the costs of the actual service (the hotspot rental), and must be applied, no matter if you rent for one day or a hundred, or if you rent one device or ten. This also applies if you cancel your reservation for any reason.
What does “smart delivery and return” mean?
We organize and provide everything for both the delivery and return, so that you do not incur additional costs or difficulties by attempting to return the device on your own. You will always receive a return package including a prepaid waybill, so you only have to seal it and leave the package with your accommodation's Reception Desk, FedEx Point personnel, or to the referent person indicated. We will then contact them to arrange the package collection by the courier.
Hotspot devices
How do you check devices?
It’s important that we trust not only our data plan, but our devices as well!
Before we adopt a new device model, our Technical Department tests dozens of models for months in order to determine the best for performance and reliability.
Prior to delivery, each device, charger and cable, must pass a main functionalities test. Upon return to our Head Office, a second test is undergone.
Depending on the model, after a specific life period, devices are retired from the rental circuit.

What do you mean by basic, average or intensive battery usage?
For all hotspot models offered, the battery life is indicated based upon tests conducted using the following methods:
Basic Usage
Only one smartphone connected, with 2 email accounts, 1 WhatsApp account, and 1 Facebook account.
Using the web browser for 10 minutes and Google Maps for 10 minutes.
Average Usage
Two smartphones connected, each using 2 email accounts, 1 WhatsApp account, and 1 Facebook account.
Using the web browser for 20 minutes, Google Maps for 20 minutes, and streaming one video 640x480 for 10 minutes.
Intensive Usage
Four smartphones connected, each using 2 email accounts, 1 WhatsApp account, and 1 Facebook account.
Using the web browser for 30 minutes, Google Maps for 30 minutes, and streaming one video 640x480 for 20 minutes.
Please remember that battery life can depend on other factors, such as coverage.

What influences the battery life and how can I extend it?
The average battery life depends on the specific hotspot model and is influenced by:
Signal Quality
If you are in an area without good coverage or communication is interrupted (e.g. thick walls), your hotspot may use more than twice the amount of standard energy needed to establish a stable connection. Under these conditions, the battery will drain faster and the lifespan may be up to 50% of the standard.
TIP - Turn off the hotspot when the connection is weak and you will know that you will stay in the same position for a long time (e.g. when you are in a building with extremely thick walls or an under ground level).
Automatic Updates of Operating System or Apps
Most devices are set to allow for automatic updates when connected to WiFi.
During automatic update downloads, there are two effects:
-Less speed for other activities because part of the bandwidth is used for the download
-Higher battery drainage due to required continuous antenna connection
TIP - If you experience quick battery drainage while walking around, please deactivate automatic update services on your personal device, and activate them again when you can use a wall charger.
Services that Use Background Data
Some software can exchange data without your knowledge, such as automatic photos automatically uploading to the cloud.
Also, more and more nowadays, websites and social media sites have automatic video downloads for advertising or other purposes, even if you don’t click play.
TIP - If you experience quick battery drainage while walking around, please deactivate one or more automatic upload services on your personal device, and activate them again when you can use a wall charger.
Number of Devices Connected Simultaneously
The battery consumption is proportional to the number of connections supported by the hotspot, so having more devices connected at the same time will result in quicker battery drainage.
TIP - While the WiTourist hotspots allow you to connect up to 10 devices at the same time, we suggest that you rent a single mobile hotspot for every 4-5 personal devices that you plan to connect during your trip.
Other Suggestions to Extend the Battery Life of the Hotspot
- Turn off the hotspot while charging, to allow for the maximum recharge speed and to allow the battery to charge to 100% completely.
- Unplug the hotspot only when you are going outside and really need the battery.
- Turn off the hotspot when you know you aren’t using it for a long period.
- Ensure you are never without battery- we suggest you purchase a good quality power bank with a capacity of at least 5000Ah, or rent one of ours!

Delivery / Return
How do I receive my hotspot when booking online?
Once your order is confirmed, we immediately contact your accommodation or indicated FedEx Point, and proceed to organize the delivery via FedEx courier. If you confirm your order within the required deadline, we deliver your WiFi package by 9 AM so that you can take advantage of it on the same day you arrive. Normally, we even deliver the day before.
The hotspot is delivered in a sealed TNT/FedEx envelope with the WiTourist sticker, indicating your name clearly.
If you pick up the WiFi at your accommodation, you will need to ask for it at the reception desk or with the person you referenced during the booking process.
If you pick up your WiFi at a FedEx Point, you will need to visit it during the opening hours and present your ID. For this reason, be sure to indicate exactly the name of the person who will be picking up the device.

How to return my device when booking online?
When you receive your device, you will also receive an envelope. Inside this envelope there is a box (inside there is the hotspot, charger, cable, and instructions) and a second envelope for the return of all the items.
The second envelope has a transparent plastic pocket with a prefilled waybill.
It’s very important that you keep this second envelope and don’t remove the waybill, as it is prepaid and reports all the information necessary for the return shipment by FedEx!
On the last day of rental, you will need to insert the box (along with the hotspot and accessories inside) into the return envelope, seal it, and give to the receptionist or the FedEx Point personnel. That’s all!
If you return the package to your hotel reception desk, or to a contact person if you've chosen an apartment. We will contact them in order to arrange the courier pick up as soon as possible.
If you return it to a FedEx Point, please make sure to observe the opening hours indicated, and arrive at least half an hour prior to closing.

Do I have to inform someone about delivery or return?
We always contact your accommodation personnel or FedEx Points indicated in advance, so it’s only important that you provide us with the correct information.
What is a TNT/FedEx Point and how does it work?
TNT/FedEx Points are businesses like stationery stores and airports luggage storages, that also allow you to drop off and pick up packages managed by the international courier FedEx. There are over 1200 points in Italy!
They are not directly related to WiTourist, but simply work as a delivery and return point for the courier!
If you rent a device by online booking, you can choose a FedEx Point to receive your hotspot. For pick up, you have to go there on the day chosen, respecting the opening hours, and present your ID. They will find your package under your name, and give it to you! For this reason, it is important that you always indicate the exact name of the person who will pick up the hotspot.
If you choose a FedEx Point to return your hotspot, you have to use the return envelope provided with its prefilled waybill (see FAQ E03), and they’ll accept the package. You don’t have to pay because everything is prepaid and organized prior!
They are not directly related to WiTourist, but simply work as a delivery and return point for the courier!
